Dragon Hunters

A scene from my D&D campaign. Lyrgum, the satyr wizard, and his familiar, Brignir, are taking on a white dragon. (Brignir can also use magic through some spells and skills.) Here's the scene as described in my characters' journal:

The others pointed out something coming, but I could only see whiteness. I suddenly could make out the large white beast and hesitated in fear. I felt I had become the prey. I did my best to protect everyone. My magic held off its icy breath. The others fired arrows at it or jumped at it with their swords. I tried my lightning, with moderate effect.

Brignir stirred and popped his head out. “I’ll save everyone!” he yelled as he charged his magic. He unleashed a barrage of scorching rays from his mouth, scorching the dragon’s face. One beam hit it directly in the eye. Its wings seemed to tangle in the air as it twisted and fell.
. . .

Brignir finished it off, managing to do over 50% of the total damage needed to kill it. Quite amazing for a familiar!
